Assassin's Creed

A video game which was released on the Xbox 360 and Playstation3, Assassin's Creed has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Though it was released globally in November 2007, the version that is for North America came to be released only in 2008 April. Assassin's Creed has a prequel to it which was put in the market in 2008.

What the game is about

In the game the player has to take on the role of Desmond Miles who is a bartender, and is the last in the line of a family who were all assassins. As per the game, Desmond is taken to a place where he is compelled to use a machine called the Animus, which can trace and restructure memories of the person's ancestors. With these memories on hand the player can control one of the members who was a part of the "assassin brotherhood" during the crusade, who is Altaïr ibn La-Ahad. The objective of the game is to get Altaïr ibn La-Ahad to slay nine persons who were historically supposed to propagate the crusade during 1191. These historical persons who are the main targets for this game are those who actually vanished or died in 1191, but it is not sure whether it was at the assassins hands.

As is quite obvious, the game's goal is to carry out the nine assassinations. The player is supposed to use many tactics like pick pocketing, interrogation, eavesdropping and intelligence gathering to complete his goal. The game permits the player to participate in any number of missions to go through the nine killings.

The game is set in the four cities of the Holy land, which are Masyaf, Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem.

The experience of the game

This is one of the most realistic games that have been created ever, with attention being paid to the minutest details of the places that are shown here. The sounds and the animations are beautifully filled with life like reality and the excitement that one feels while playing this game is to be felt to be believed. An experience that stays with you long after the game is over and lingers on in your thoughts for ages. The sounds are more awe inspiring than the visuals and create an atmosphere that is totally life like and real. The climax's of the game are accompanied by some very beautiful orchestral musical themes which add to the beauty of the whole set up and give it an even richer finish.

This is an endlessly entertaining game which keeps you engrossed and asking for more while you are trying to find out the location of the targets and getting all the leads you can. The handling of the controls of this game is smooth and flowing and gets you more and more involved as you get engrossed in the game and as you play on. This is definitely a must for everyone who owns a Playstation 3.
