If you enjoyed Round 2, then you might get or might already
be getting a kick out of Fight Night: Round 3! If
you want to know more about this game, here are the works.
This video game is all about boxing. EA Sports is its
developer. The prequel of this game was Fight Night: Round 2
which was released on the year 2005. The release of Round 3
was on the 22nd of February, 2006. The video game
was released for PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, and Xbox. The
game can also be played with PlayStation 3 as it was
released last December 6, 2006 specifically for that
purpose.
EA Sports has produced
many riveting games. Fight Night: Round 3 is
3rd on the line of all the boxing titles they
have created. The creation of this game was spurned on when
Knockout Kings games became so popular with PlayStation
gamers. As a sequel, Round 3 succeeded in bringing an all
new and improved Fight Night. Any player is sure to
appreciate better gameplay and more improved graphics. One
very recognizable change is the ‘Impact Punches’. Also added
were the ESPN Classic fights. There is also a brand new
career game mode wherein a player will have to beat other
boxers to obtain popularity. Beating opponents also ensures
fighting in an ESPN featured match.
Previous Fight Night
video games had an HUD (heads- up display). The HUD used to
tell a player what is going on with the energy and stamina
of the boxer being played. Fight Night: Round 3
though have eliminated the HUD. This made the game more
stimulating. Now, a player will really have to pay attention
because the energy and stamina will be determined only by
looking at the player’s physical condition. This means that
all the facial reactions, movements, and stances will tell
the gamer if the character is still on top condition or not.
With the improved graphics of the game, this is highly
possible.
As mentioned,
Fight Night: Round
3 was released for use in multiple video game consoles.
Because of this, there are several versions of the game. The
versions though do not really have that much difference with
each other. One noticeable distinction is that the cover art
for the version released on the Xbox and PS2 featured Micky
Ward and Arturo Gatti. The version released on the PSP, PS3,
and Xbox 360 featured the photo of the popular boxer Oscar
de la Hoya. Another distinction was that all the rest of the
versions can only be played on a 3rd person point
of view except for the PS3 version.
The game has also some
mini games in it, which serve as ice breakers. Indeed these
mini games are similar to that of Round 2 (only the
perspective was changed), still it is better than nothing.
Besides the boxing is still the main event. An IGN award-
Best Offline Multiplayer was given to Fight Night: Round 3 in
2006 on PlayStation 3.
